Building What Matters: Saks Snacks Vol II
The Journey of Building: Entrepreneurship, Creativity, and Purposeful Growth
Hey friends, I’ve missed you.
No really, I’ve missed writing to you consistently.
The Quick Update: I’ll be sharing more writings and ideas with you on a monthly basis - a cadence that feels like a more natural creative rhythm for me.
I could blame my absence on being busy - bootstrapping a health CPG company while working a 9 to 5 and slowly growing Writing the Wave...
But the truth is I’ve felt blocked. Creatively limited, because the ideas I want to share now feel different from what I’ve written about before.
When I first started this blog in 2021, I set out to be an intellectual lighthouse for people curious about the intersections of health, technology, and philosophy.
Then in 2022, I transitioned from writing newsletter-style updates to longer essays exploring “timeless ideas” within these themes.
But somewhere along the way, I put unnecessary self-imposed pressure on myself.
Now, my focus is simple: I want this to be a space where I can write openly and honestly about it all—updates to share, musings to explore, and raw reflections on the messy, beautiful process of growing, learning, and experiencing life
Here’s a taste of what you can expect and what I’ve been up to:
1. Sharing my Entrepreneurial Journey with You
By sharing the ups and downs of bootstrapping my first health CPG company, Live Cushy™ - the process, learnings, failures, and all - I hope to connect with my tribe: the founders, builders, and creatives who are ready to take action on their ideas.
Building Live Cushy™ with a great friend 500 miles away has been packed with lessons—especially while juggling a day job that’s (for now) funding the dream.
2. Creator Economy Musings
The Creator Economy is booming—and its growth will only accelerate as tech and shifting work dynamics reshape how we engage with content and commerce. At Google and YouTube, I’m seeing firsthand how consumer behaviors are changing, and I’m excited to channel these insights into building sustainable, successful ventures.
I’m also inspired to step into a new version of myself as a “creator” - through video and public documentation of my journey building Live Cushy™ (“Founder Generated Content”).
3. Community building + Writing the Wave
Hosting community events that inspire isn’t just about logistics - it’s about creating space for magic to happen. Spaces where words ignite connection.
I’ll break down what’s worked for us from Writing the Wave’s bi-weekly writing meet-ups in San Francisco and the events we’re starting to host in other cities (so far, just SF and NYC).
We’ve customized workshops for Executive Coaching Groups, sales teams, and will be doubling down on IRL events with Pie Creator Fund in 2025.
Simply by stepping onto this path, it’s shown me how I’ll shape a more intentional world, through the power of words.
4. Find the Others
Writing online is an incredible psychotechnology.
It lets me explore what fascinates me while attracting “The Others”: the bold, curious people carving their own unique path and nerding out on similar passions.
I’m here for more of that. Let’s keep building, learning, and finding each other.
5. Ideas I’m Working Through
I’m constantly reading, writing, and reflecting and I want the freedom to share whatever’s on my mind or heart - business updates, learnings from running, musings on time, technology, etc.
This space is for curious explorations. Expect essays, poems, quick thoughts, and everything in between - because our best ideas will come from following creative freedom wherever it leads.
6. Creativity
I’ve always been curious about the rhythms and practices that allow prolific creators to consistently tap into their genius.
Right now, I’m in Week 10 of a 12 Week online container I’ve co-created and hosted alongside Holly from Good Surroundings. We’ve curated a special group of special founders, creatives, and entrepreneurs, and this won’t be the last time we bring intentional groups of people together.
Through struggling through Morning Pages, I’ve rediscovered my deep fascination with the creative process. Expect more musings on it.
